Tara - "Queen of
Physicians". Both Hindu and Buddhist Goddess. The first
female Buddha and teacher of the gods. Protectress against fears that block
people from happiness. Saves those who call her name when they are suffering
or need her help. Symbolizes whishes and health.
Taranis - His emblems are
the wheel and the lightning flash, and his name means 'Thunderer'. This
Gaulish god is sometimes identified with Jupiter.
Tauret - "The Great
One" The Egyptian hippopotamus goddess of women and childbirth.
Tefnut - "Sky
Spittle" The Egyptian goddess of moisture, rain and the mother of
Nut and Geb.
Terminus - Deity
of Sacred Space, and the boundaries thereof. His Spirit was said to reside in
cairns, landmarks, and boundary markers. He is another example, like Janus, of
the Roman preoccupation with space, distance, edges, and the transition from
one state to another. Also the protector of personal property.
Teutates - An ancient
Celtic god of war, fertility and wealth worshipped in Gaul. His name means
"the god of the tribe". Human sacrifices were made in his name.
Teutates is the equivalent of the Roman god Mars.
Thalia - One
of the Greek goddesses of peace and happiness, the Graces. Thalia means
rejoicing. Correspond to the Roman goddesses, the Charities.
Thor (Thorr, Thunar,
Donar) - Norse Asa-God, Hammer-God of thunder and lightening, agriculture and
craftsmanship. Thor also is the God of defense and strength His wife is
Sif. Although he is sometimes over hasty in judgment, he is a totally reliable
friend and battle companion. He has wild red hair and beard, always dresses in
battle dressings.
Thoth - Name means
"Leader" The Egyptian ibis-god of wisdom, writing and the
moon.
Tiberinus - Tutelary God
of the Tiber River.
Ti-Tsang Wang - Chinese
god of mercy.
Trisiphone - One of the
three Greek goddesses known as the Erinyes. The Romans called them
Furies.
Tryglaw - The Polish
equivalent of Troyan.
Troyan - (The Triune One) Slavic
God of night and darkness. He was represented as a three-headed man with
golden bands in his eyes. His three heads embodied his power over earth, sky
and hell.
